Five days and 34 shows later, I may never recover from this CMJ. While I absolutely love this festival, nothing stresses me out more than trying to listen to 1300+ bands in two weeks, running from venue to venue (this year in the rain) and hoping that the band I want to see is playing at the correct location at the scheduled time. However, each year, I can't get enough. I guess my love/hate relationship with CMJ will continue...

Biggest disappointments - Surf City/The Gulf of Michigan/Let's Wrestle/Kittens Ablaze (didn't like the vocals), Dum Dum Girls (one-dimensional, Vivian Girls 2.0), Cruel Black Dove
Missed opps - Cold Cave (thanks a lot for canceling Vice!!!), Surfer Blood/The Antlers/Still Life Still (because of the buzz), Alina Simone/The xx/The Dig/Red Wire Black Wire/In Cadeo/Obits/Screaming Females/Deer Tick (have been wanting to see for a while), Bang Bang Eche/Mussels (love them live), The Moi Non Plus, Warpaint, Ungdomskullen, Empires, CALLmeKAT, Calypso and a ton of other bands
