The front page of today's New York Times' featured an above the fold obit for Michael Jackson and a below the fold obit mention for Farah Fawcett.
By comparison, when Kurt Cobain passed away, he got a below the fold mention akin to Fawcett's placement. It was Kurt Cobain and Nirvana's Nevermind that knocked Jackson's Dangerous from the #1 spot on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart back in 1991.
