The Dead Weather made their live debut last evening at NYC's Bowery Ballroom and they nailed it. Dressed in all black, soaked in only blue light, the Dead Weather played an eleven song set that sounded like Patti Smith playing with R.L. Burnside.

Frontwoman Alison Mosshart of The Kills did a great job of maintaining the spotlight from the drummer (?!?!), who just happened to be Mister Jack White III. Never has so much attention been paid to a drummer, but gutarist Dean Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age sounded wicked. It was only when Jack stepped out from behind his drum kit for one song, you really wished that Jack played guitar the entire night.

Still, the Dead Weather proved themselves as another ace up Jack's sleeve. (Photographs by Self-titledmag)
