As Phish end their hiatus, a summer tour and multiple tour dates seem to be lining up.
This morning, LiveNation.com was listing a Jan. 30 on-sale date for a Phish show on June 18 at the Post-Gazette Pavilion outside Pittsburgh, which lines up nicely alongside rumors of an appearance at the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tenn., the previous weekend. The link has since been removed.
The Bonnaroo Festival rumor has Phish possibly headling the first two night with Bruce Springsteen headlining the third night. While Phish would likely mean a sold out Bonnaroo this year, I don't think it would help the fest shed the hippie image it has worked so hard to lose over the last few years.
Meanwhile, Michigan's Rothbury Festival will return this summer for their second festival and they don't seem to mind being labeled a hippie festival. Rumors are they've booked Phish and Tom Petty to headline this year's festival.
