I really despise politico's who act as good little followers while they're working for the President, even though they're fully aware that he was leading our country in thewrong direction.. It seems like every single person that helped President Bush lie our country into war, poverty, inflation, etc, ends up regretting working for the unpopular President. Why didn't these people just quit? Colin Powell, I'm talking to you.

The latest former Bush croonie to is former Press Secretary Scott McClellan. The President's mouthpiece has written the much-delayed book “What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception.” The book includes lots of stories about how the President fed the media false propaganda to go to war in Iraq and this:

Mr. McClellan writes that top White House officials deceived him about the administration’s involvement in the leaking of the identity of a C.I.A. operative, Valerie Wilson. He says he did not know for almost two years that his statements from the press room that Karl Rove and I. Lewis Libby Jr. were not involved in the leak were a lie.

“Neither, I believe, did President Bush,” Mr. McClellan writes. “He too had been deceived, and therefore became unwittingly involved in deceiving me. But the top White House officials who knew the truth — including Rove, Libby, and possibly Vice President Cheney — allowed me, even encouraged me, to repeat a lie.”

The big exception to this rule is the Honorable Christine Todd Whitman, who Bush appointed to run the Environmental Protection Agency. After a very public fight, in which Whitman refused to endorse Bush's enviorment regulations, she resigned rather than appease the President........
