This weekend, Republican Presidential nominee Senator John McCain will meet with three possible Vice Presidents: Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida, Gov. Piyush "Bobby" Jindal of Louisiana, and Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts.
Romney, brings a lot of money to the table, but won't exactly help McCain win over hardcore conservatives.
Crist has successfully used the Defense of Marriage Act to keep Gay Marriages illegal in Florida, even though he is highly-rumored to be a closeted homosexual himself. I don't think the Republicans want another Larry Craig on their Presidential ticket and enough people seem willing to come out and speak about him.
And Jindal, well honestly, I just don't think McCain would pick an Indian-American named Piyush Jindal, even if Rush LImbaugh does describe him as "the next Ronald Reagan," which actually may be the kind of pandering that McCain needs to boost his appeal with the far-right. Jindal is against abortion, even in cases of rape or incest. He's against stem-cell research. He supports the teaching of intelligent design in public schools.
Why doesn't McCain just pick his best buddy, Senator Joe Lieberman......
