MINISTRY | C U LaTour - Irving Plaza - Night One

Ministry played the first of their two "final" NYC shows at Irving Plaza last night (their final show is tonight) and you could tell why this is their final tour. Here's how one fan reviewed the show:

Nothing new under the sun my friends. Any negativity that has been voiced before applies to NYC night #1 too. The same BS (translates to BUSH SHIT) setlist, the same overall lameness and the same retardo-metal audience. The same pathetic and cliché first opener, the same sleeping pill for the second opener (the first 2 dillinger escape plan records (EP & CD), that’s what I would file under complex & skilled metal)…

Well, what can I say, I knew what was coming, so no reason to complain, right?!

The Ministry show itself was, like I said before, no different from any other of the recent gigs it seems. From the old songs only Thieves and Just One Fix sounded alright. So What was, hmmm, not the same without Connelly and NWO I never really liked. Plus B.Bell just didn’t seem right for the vocals part. The only good thing about the show was Tommy Victor on guitar. He added big time to the overall stage presence, plus he is a local which always helps in NYC.

Left before the cover songs, had already suffered enough for the night. Needless to say I won’t be going back today.

Good bye Ministry and FUCK OFF

Chapter closed.

Also, Burton Bell sang all the songs for both encores........
