For the First time, the F Yeah Fest is going national. The tour will feature a revolving cast including Circle Jerks, Dan Deacon, Matt & Kim, Dillinger Four, The Death Set, Monotonix, Brother Reade, Team Robespierre, Mannequin Men, Crystal Antlers, Paint It Black, and comedian Reggie Watts.
F*%! Yeah Fest is an annual music/comedy/art festival held in Los Angeles at the en d of each summer curated by 22 year old Sean Carlson and Keith Morris from The Circle Jerks & Black Flag. This year will be the fifth installment and it will take place in an outdoor setting in downtown LA on August 30th & 31st and will now be known as F Yeah Fest. It's been Carlson's goal for some time now to take the festival on the road, bringing the spirit of the festival to other cities, and now for the first time that dream has become a reality with the first annual F YEAH TOUR '08, featuring many bands and comedians that have become staples / favorites at the festival. The Fest will be touring in a 44 passenger '92 Bluebird Bus. The only goal for this tour is to have fun.For the past four years the fest has taken place at multiple locations in Echo Park that were all walking distance from one another. Some of the bands that have played over the years are Dillinger Four, Silversun Pickups, Dead Meadow, The Ponys, Envy (Japan), Deerhunter, Erase Errata, Mika Miko, No Age, Matt & Kim, The Explosion, Busdriver, Lavender Diamond, Tussle, Entrance, Wooden Shjips, xBxRx, Boom Bip, Langhorne Slim, Gris Gris and over a hundred others.
All shows will feature visual art by Space 1026 from Philadelphia. Microcsim Publishing will have a table at every show selling books, zines etc.
F YEAH TOUR 08! has also teamed up with the U.S. Campaign for Burma and every night they will have a table set up at each show passing out educational material. There will also be opportunities each night on the tour for audience members to register to vote.
The tour hits the Highline Ballroom in Manhattan on July 12th and July 13th at Club Exit in Brooklyn. All tour dates and line-ups after the jump.........
