How could this happen? How? How?
Three detectives were found not guilty Friday morning on all charges in the shooting death of Sean Bell, who died in a hail of 50 police bullets outside a club in Jamaica, Queens.Justice Arthur J. Cooperman, who delivered the verdict, said many of the prosecution’s witnesses, including Mr. Bell’s friends and the two wounded victims, were simply not believable. “At times, the testimony of those witnesses just didn’t make sense,” he said.
The verdict comes 17 months to the day since the Nov. 25, 2006, shooting of Mr. Bell, 23, and his friends, Joseph Guzman and Trent Benefield, outside the Club Kalua in Jamaica, Queens, hours before Mr. Bell was to be married.
The unjustified shooting? The lie about the mystery 4th man? An undercover officer shooting without showing his badge? THe fake hooker and robbery story? I mean, c'mon, the cops fucked up! They really, really fucked! At the very least, they used excessive force! To find them 100% not guilty is a travesty.
Seriously, what does it take to find a policer officer guilty? I am in no way anti-cop. I respect them and understand that a large marjority of them are good people, but when they fuck up, especially to such a high degree, they can not just concoct a lie and hide behind a united Blue Wall of Silence.
I am beyond outraged. This really breaks my heart............

bad enough that the cops had the original charges reduced.. but acquitted on all counts???
50 shots = murder. plain and simple. those three cops literally got away with murder.
the real shit is the complete lack of accountability in incidents of police violence (police murder in this case). deciding this case by bench trial as if the courts don't have a vested interest in protecting their own.
