POLITICAL JUNK | Hillary Continues Campaigning On Lies

Why I can't stand Hillary:

"I'm very proud that as of today, I have received more votes by the people who have voted than anybody else, and I am proud of that," Clinton said at a rally in Indianapolis. "It's a very close race, but if you count, as I count, the 2.3 million people who voted in Michigan and Florida, then we are going to build on that."

Where is Howard Dean? As the party leader, it's his job to stop Hillary from saying lies like this. The race is over. She lost. All she is doing at this point is hurting the Democratic candidate and helping John McCain.........

jeremito:

I know! It's so annoying to that Hillary Clinton has this pesky habbit of WINNING every key democratic swing state. She should just shut up and drop out even though she keeps winning...Wake up, the guy who you think is gonna win in the fall can't even knock her out of the race in spite of a half assed election process and all this media hate.

adam:

She keeps winning because of white women (the only voting block she won in PA). If Obama was only winning on account of african americans people would be jumping all over the race angle.

And ya know she can keep running if she wants to she has that right. But think about this even if she wins every single remaining primary she would still lose!

Her only chance is the superdelegates and they arent going to vote for somebody who lost the pledged delegate race and the popular vote. She lost get over it and get behind our nominee or vote McCain and get another Bush term.

Blah:

If Hillary is the loser, why did half of Obama's own party voted against him. Half. Not some small number.

If Hillary doesn't have a chance, why are people voting for her. She won by ten points in PA. A huge margin.

I am not saying Hillary is better, just pointing out Obama is striking out with half of his own party. Not good.

The damage was done before this mess even started. McCain will coast to victory, leaving Obama in the dust.

Adam:

People are voting for her still because shes still on the ballot!

She has no chance because its impossible for her to catch up to Obama on pledged delegates or the popular vote with the number of states remaining. Thats a fact.

As for "half Obama's own party voting against him" hes running against a Clinton in a democratic primary! And more then half the democratic party has voted against Hillary as well.. Becuase its an election! This means absolutely nothing.

jeremito:

Look, Adam. Yes, it's true, Barack Obama does have lead at this point, but that doesn't mean he won the election. You have to remember, this is not the same as a general election. It's an internal party contest to decide who the best candidate is. Just because he's currently ahead, doesn't mean he should be the candidate. There are still many states to go, and the argument that Hillary is a better candidate centers around the idea that she's proven that she can win the key swing states that will be in play in the fall. She's done that, and since Obama is so green, and he hasn't been able to carry those states, he is probably not the best best for the general election. Why is it so important to have the nominee right this second? If Obama won a decisive victory, it would be another story, but he hasn't! So, let's see who's the best bet. Let's let everybody vote, see how it all goes down and make the best decision for our party. And when we make that decision, we should ALL come together around that candidate to defeat McCain.

Marc:

Apparently for Obama supporters, the people of Indiana and other states that have yet to hold primaries do not matter.

Adam:

They dont matter because the election is over! Hillary supporters can't accept that fact. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY HILLARY CAN WIN AND IT ISNT BY WINNING MORE STATES ITS VIA SUPERDELEGATES!

Adam:

jeremito:

Its important to have the nominee right this second because just three weeks ago Obama was beating McCain in the gallup poll by 10 points! Because of Hillary's slash and burn politics trying to make him unelectable and into McGovern 2.0 they are now neck and neck. This fighting needs to stop and because Hillary has no chance of winning she needs to step aside.

But if you want to look purely at the issues here I can tell you why Hillary is a worse candidate. But thats for another post.

Devil's Advocate:

"THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY HILLARY CAN WIN AND IT ISNT BY WINNING MORE STATES ITS VIA SUPERDELEGATES!"

What's so wrong about winning via superdelegates? If it is an option, why not explore it? It must be there for a reason. No one way of winning is better than the other.

Adam:

The superdelegates are never going to vote for somebody who lost the popular vote, the pledged delegates, and number of contests.

Hell even Jon Corzine one of Hillarys biggest supporters said he would jump to Obama unless she could turn one around.

But the thing is that it is mathematically impossible for her to turn around any of the 3.

Hillary has actually lost more delegates then shes gained since super tuesday while Obama has almost netted 100 new ones in his camp.

And in the mean time McCain is getting a free ride and is starting to take over both Democrats in the national polls where just a month ago he was losing to both by wide margins.

This race needs to end because one democrat doesnt care about her party and would rather burn everything down unless shes the flag bearer. There is just no way she can win! This race is over whether you guys want to admitt it or not.

Adam:

Why Hillary is a worse candidate:

Hillary Clinton's health care plan is terrible and screws over most people 18-30 or living below the poverty line. How do I know this? Massachusetts has essentially the same policy. I have alot of friends up in Boston and they complain all the time about how they wish they could have health care but just can't afford it. Senator Clinton's plan like the plan in Mass. fines people who don't buy health insurance. And it is easier for a kid just starting out or living below the poverty line to afford a fine then actual health care. I don't know about you but I think it's pretty darn crummy to fine people for not being able to afford health care.

Now what Senator Obama is proposing is a law that would require every employer in America to offer their workers health care. They don't have to buy it if they don't want to and if they do want to they can apply for tax breaks. The problem with health care isn't that nobody is forcing Americans to buy insurance, its that Americans can't afford it.

Now look at the war in Iraq. Hillary Clinton wants to withdraw a number of brigades but she also wants to continue combat missions. Saying you are going to continue combat missions is the same as saying you are going to continue the war, just with less troops! What Obama is proposing is withdrawing a number of brigades and only leaving troops behind to secure the green zone.

Look at Iran, Hillary Clinton just this morning said she would consider invading the country if they don't end their nuclear program. Thats the Bush policy! And whats more she has criticized Senator Obama due to his policy of open diplomatic relations with every nation (except Hamas), yet she is ready to go to war with a country without even giving diplomacy a chance. Again a Bush policy. Even Ronald Reagan was willing to have diplomatic relations with Panama, The Soviet Union, ect. In fact every president during the entire cold war era was okay with open diplomatic relations. The fact Senator Clinton is not is merely a continuation of the do nothing Bush policy.

Social Security: Obama has a plan to lift the caps on the pay roll tax which would increase taxes on people such as CEO's and it is estimated it would make the program solvent until 2035. Senator Clinton doesn't have a plan for Social Security but when asked she said she would *consider* creating a committee to explore possibilities.

jeremito:

Hillary Clinton is not going to continue the Bush policies. Where'd you read that? Huffington Post? Moveon.org? The same outlets that have been propagating these lies about her "agenda" to win in 2012? Please! If you actually think that you're a fool. Hillary Clinton is trying to do one thing right now: win. For all of the "mathematical impossibility" rhetoric that's out there right now, it's still true that she can win. And if she stays in the race and continues to win important states, she will win more superdelegates. Hillary Clinton didn't invent the Superdelegate system, Adam. She's just playing by the rules. And for some reason, some people can't seem to handle that. I agree we should probably change the superdelegate system! But that's not her fault! That's what moveon.org should have been focusing on for the last 8 years since the Gore/Bush debacle of 2000! Changing the rules in the general election and in BOTH PARTIES to move away from a delegate system and towards a popular vote system. But instead, they didn't do that and now they're calling for a candidate who they don't like to step down because it doesn't suit their needs. Well, I call bullshit! Hillary Clinton should stay in the race for as long as she keeps winning. Now, to address your other comments, it's true that Hillary Clinton is a Centrist, like her husband before her. But wake up, man! You need to be a Centrist to win in this country. That's what Democrats just don't understand. Michael Dukakis, Walter Mondale, John Kerry and Barak Obama didn't, and aren't going to win for a reason, regardless of how great their policies are: The masses of people in this country are in the Center. All those people who voted for Hillary in PA are not gonna vote for Obama if he wins. They're gonna vote for McCain! And if you don't see that, you probably haven't been over the GWB in a while.

Adam:

Obama was ahead of McCain by 10 points in the gallup just a month ago! He can win, and he had a better chance until Hillary's negative attacks.

And has Hillary or has she not criticized Obama's open diplomacy policy?! She has which is the same as the bush policy!

No way:

"Social Security: Obama has a plan to lift the caps on the pay roll tax which would increase taxes on people such as CEO's [sic]"

I am not a CEO, just a regular rank-n-file worker, and even I will get hit by Obama's new taxes. Sure, I make more money than the current cap, but in NYC, it is common. All I can afford is a crappy 1BR apartment. Rent, not own! And that limousine liberal that is Obama wants to raise my taxes?!? Stop the man. I guess I am bitter.

Adam:

Everyone will be hit by new taxes regardless of who becomes president (including McCain)

Why?! Because we have a fucking idiot president who thinks we can have tax cuts and at the same time be at war! Never before in US history has that happened.
