Why the hell would a politically-minded artist like Kanye West perform at an event honoring Bruce Ratner? Maybe it's that they both have gigantic egos? Maybe they both think they own the world? Or maybe it's that nothing is really as important to either of them as money.
Sadly, Kanye West did perform on Thursday night at Brooklyn Museum's despicable tribute to Bruce Ratner. Outside the museum, a couple hundred people protested the $1,000-a-ticket event honoring the man who is trying to destroy Brooklyn. (pictures from The Kingston Lounge)..........

...it was also to honor takashi maurakami who's exhibit at brooklyn museum opens this weekend. takashi designed his most recent record and animated one of the videos off it. PLUS ratner's stadium will house his buddy jay z's basketball team.
