I had my 30th birthday while here at the Ranch. No better way to spend it than with my bandmates making music doing what we love. The cake shown is actually my second cake of the day. The first one was huge with decorative icing depicting a drum kit and flames; it was like my Bar Mitzvah all over again. That cake I cut with a real samurai sword, as is custom here at the Ranch. Celebrations carried on into the night across the border in Mexico. Once back, we ended the day with this second cake, a truly delicious red velvet. In my family, it's customary to 'shmear' your name after making a wish and blowing out the candles though no candles were put on this cake.
