JellyNYC brought the pool to life with their Pool Parties and now the city is taking the space back. Here's the official word:
The city unveiled plans Thursday to reopen the McCarren Park Pool, a sprawling recreation area that has been dry for 24 years.
The $50 million project, expected to be finished by 2011, will feature a recreation center, restaurant and space for an ice rink in the winter, city officials said.
Pricey condos - many featuring floor-to-ceiling windows - have been rising along the streets around the pool as Williamsburg moves from being a hipster enclave to a yuppie playground.
This kind of reminds me of how the Mighty Robots collective would throw awesome parties at the Poliish National Home in Greenpoint until Irving Plaza came in and brokered a deal with the venue to create Warsaw and stopped Mighty Robots from putting on shows at the venue........

I’ve been browsing for a very long time, trying to find something very special in Internet. It’s hard to imagine, how much time I spent searching for sensations. I have tried to find something interesting and not very serious, just to enjoy reading it. I can’t believe that I’m finally here and that I found everything I was looking for. Interesting information, interesting people. That’s exactly what I needed.

I wonder why so many people like to comment stuff. Why is this kind of spending your free time so popular? Maybe people have a lack of communication in real world? Maybe that’s because they have a lot of problems in reality and want to run away from them? Maybe they need new impressions and experience? Or they just got suck here? I don’t have a clue. What do you all think?
