TEGAN & SARA | U.S. Tour (Terminal 5) + Presale Info

Tegan and Sara, who performed with a crazy puppet on "Pancake Mountain," posted a nice update on their myspace blog that attacks Facebook, talks about their new places in Vancouver (Tegan) and Montreal (Sara), and a bunch of new U.S. tour dates. You can read the full post after the jump.

The tour hits New York City's Terminal 5 on May 12th. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 18th. A pre-sale starts tomorrow, January 16th, at 10am..........

I'm writing you from Hibernation. It's partly against the rules as this is supposed to be a time of rest, a time to recuperate, and a time to prepare. For why? For what? Well we have a very busy year ahead of us! Very busy. Which thankfully includes a lot of touring in a lot of exciting places all around this beautiful place we call earth...

As you know if you read our Myspace Blog, Sara is at home in Montreal learning to knit and snowshoe while reflecting on the deeper meaning of life, and I am here in Vancouver trudging around in the rain attempting to put together a home or some semblance of one really…ha. It's been a long time since I've had a place of my own. My suitcase and filled-to-capacity storage unit have finally been transported into my new place, leaving me to sort out all the details of a life that's been wrapped in newspaper for what seems like a seriously ridiculous amount of time.

Anyway! We're writing you to say hi of course but also to warn/alert you about tour dates! We've got another US tour coming up! Keep in mind a few dates are not being released right now but will be in the coming weeks so be sure to join our mailing list at www.teganandsara.com or sign up for whatever it is that our Myspace sends out...(still not on that band wagon...I also think Facebook is a laughable farce and increasingly I feel as if we are losing touch faster and more effectively with each other as we find more and more meaningless ways to "poke" one another instead of picking up the phone and saying I love you...).

A reminder to our European friends that our trip to see you is coming soon. Be sure to snap up tickets ASAP as they are going really fast. Also to all our friends who have been sending the sweetest most adorable letters/cards/notes/cds/demos and other miscellaneous goodies to us...thank you. I wake up on Fridays and ride the bus downtown to pick up our mail and I can't tell you how happy it makes me to have so many letters and funny things to open up and look through...I wish I could write you all back but I just can't keep up. But know your letters are being read. Your love is being felt.

Even through the rain gear.

Take care

Your friend,

Tegan (and Sara)

They are being featured on mtvU right now: http://www.mtvu.com/music/house_band/

I think that people should communicate, no matter where they do it – in real life or in Internet.

I’m sure it’s not true! If it was, nothing lake that would have been posted! It sounds so weird! I doubt that anyone would ever believe it!
