YEAR END LSITS | The 30 Most Disappointing Albums of 2007

2007_ALBUMS_OF_THE_YEAR.JPG
This year was an excellent year for music. We loved so many freaking albums that our Best of list is going to be super-sized (we'll post that list tomorrow). While this year provided us with plenty of stellar albums, we also had quite a few of clunkers. The below list of albums that disappointed us, which doesn't necessarily mean that they suck, it just means that we weren't very into them, barely listened to them, or gave it away after a couple of unenthusiastic spins. We had high hopes for these albums and were sorely disappointed. Here's the list.....

i was plesently surprised by The Mix-Up!

Agree re Patti Smith's Twelve...she is one of my favorites and I never miss her live, but it could have been so much more. She should do only live albums. Disagree about Lucinda... West is a classic. Go back and listen again.

disagree about BRMC....favorite release of theirs yet. yeah "all you do is talk" is a blatant "with or without you" ripoff but a really GREAT ripoff.

MM..FOOD was originally released in 2004 and reissued in 2007. It also happens to be ridiculously brilliant in my opinion.

jjazznola:

The Mix-Up sounds like it was done in one afternoon. The Stooges should definitly be #1.

E:

I agree except for Modest Mouse. That album rocks. In my opinion its one of the top ten of the year.

I acutally enjoyed Interpol's Our Love to Admire more than Antics....not as good as Turn on the Bright Lights, but still great.

BRMC, Air, and The Stooges broke my heart. I like Ronson's album though.

Simply outstanding ^_^! I like posts like that. Your blog is added to my favorites ;-). Continue writing.
