A trailer for Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stone documentary, Shine A Light, is making its way around the internet. The doc, which captures the band playing live at the Beacon Theatre on October 29th and November 1st of last year (the second show was originally schedule for October 28th, but had to be rescheduled). Scorsese cuts in lots of backstage footage and some clips of the band in their 60's and 70's heyday.
Scorsese is the genius behind the 1978 classic The Last Waltz, but according to a couple of folks we know who went to a private screening, the film ain't no Cocksucker Blues (See clips below). Shine A Light will have a limited U.S. theatre release in April 2008.
And who knows how valid this is, but rumors are spreading that following the final show of their A Bigger Bang Tour, which ends this Sunday at London's 02 Arena (began on August 21st, 2005!!!), the band will announce that they never mount a full tour again........
Cocksucker Blues - With tour opener Stevie Wonder....
