went to baltimore -- a terribly unlearned crowd -- choosing the beasties (while good) over TVOTR (while better); wu tang and velvet revolver over YYY and interpol... quite quite the frat rock crowd. but overall TVOTR were brilliant. YYY blew all that were there away (you should have seen the unitiated's faces). interpol in pelting rain were spot on -- though they left with 15 minutes left in their slot. but the top of the tops -- LCD soundsytem -- james' "drinking beer in the hot sun" buzz coupled with briliant backing and a deep deep bass -- just plain wow.

went to chicago and was blown away at how much more efficiently it was run than coachella. I considered my festival days all but finished but now I'm thinking this might be my new annual trip. Really good time.
