THE SOPRANOS | The Final Episode, The Verdict

sopranos.jpg

The Sopranos have aired the final episode of what will down as one of the greatest television shows of all time (I think I'm the first person to ever say that).

This final season got of to a slow start, but the previous three episodes were fantastic. As for the final episode, well, let's hear your thoughts after the jump so we don't spoil anything for people who haven't seen it yet...............

i liked it. if they killed tony it would have been too easy an ending. and if they didn't kill him then it's kind of a happy ending and you can't have a happy ending in a mafia story. so i like that they let the story play itself out behind closed doors. its exactly the way i thought they should have ended. this way each viewer can imagine what went down. it was suspensful as hell and not a let down. and im glad they put down that fuck face Phil Leatardo (or Phil Reatardo as i like to refer to him). Good ending to a great show.

i agree with halified.

i agree with halified, still.

Did Tony get shot in the end? Were we seeing Meadow enter the restaurant from Tony's viewpoint, when, BAM, Tony is shot and everything goes black (he discussed that with Bobby in an earlier episode). It could've been that guy who left the bar and walked to the bathroom (ala The Godfather) Or it could have been that guy with the "U.S.A." hat on (oddly enough, the episode was titled "Made in the U.S.A.") Who knows, I guess it's up to the viewer...

Considering that most television shows end with such a cheesey episode or some flashbacks, I found this one great.

The best moment of the episode was clearly the last five minutes in the restruant. To see the world through Tony's eyes was intense. It was all paronia, fear, anxiety, and worry. I loved it.

It woulda been better if Tony woke up next to Suzanne Pleshette and told her about this wild dream she just had.

INTENSE. loved the episode - chase is a genius. the initial disappointment of no BAM lasted a second before i realized how everything tied in together. the guy at the bar was phil's nephew, the 3 black guys were the guys who clipped tony's ear, and the trucker was the guy who chris had stolen all those DVDs from! hah best of all, meadow's car was the lexus that parks itself! can't wait to watch it again.

Stolen from my assistant.

OK, at first I was really angry. I mean really, really
angry. Here is
the thing... in the last scene we are seeing through
Tony's eyes.
Remember when he was speaking with Bobby...basically
saying that you
don't see it happening? So here is what I found out. The
guy at the bar
is in the credits as Nikki Leotardo. The same actor played
him in the
first part of season 6 during a brief sit down concerning
the future of
Vito. Apparently, he is the nephew of Phil. Phil's brother
Nikki Senior
was killed in 1976 in a car accident. Absolutely Genius!
So the point
would have been that life continues and we may never know
the end of the
Sopranos. But if you pay attention to the history, you
will find that
all the answers lie in the characters in the restaurant.
The trucker was
the brother of the guy who was robbed and killed by
Christopher in
Season 2. (the DVD players) The trucker had to identify
the body. The
boy scouts were in the train store and the black guys at
the end were
the ones who tried to kill Tony and only clipped him in
the ear (season
2 or 3). Absolutely incredible! There were 3 people in the
restaurant
who had reason to kill Tony and then it just ends. Tony
would like it to
keep going but just as we have to say goodbye, so does he.
No more Tony
and I guess we are supposed to be happy that Meadow didn't
get clipped
as well (she would have been sitting between the shooter
and Tony). In
retrospect... very well done
