Morrissey has cancelled his June 30th show at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The official reason is that he's sick with a sore throat, which may in fact be true, but I'm sure his management is happy that the last of the international playboys isn't playing to a half-empty venue. Sources have told us that Moz has only sold around 7,000 of the 18,000+ seats that MSG holds, that's including ticketmaster's special 50% off tickets for students (after school is out and summer session haven't begun).
Moz is still scheduled to go ahead with his July 6th date at the PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey. Don't be surprise to see the MSG show never rescheduled or moved to Radio City Music Hall.....

i saw him on letterman and his voice was terrible. not surprised this was cancelled, though i'm sure the ticket sales played a role.

He's created alot of ill will with this cancelation. while it makes little sense to play to a half or more empty house. You have to appreciate the 7,000 more or so people who DID sign on pay, up, dress up, show up for that show! It was cowardly and dispicable to cancel on those who were willing brave the obvious dangers of attending a show of any sort on that particular evening. The fact that he went out of his way to show up for letterman then cancelled MA and NY and to criss cross back and forth. Alot of his die hard fans are sitting there making excuses for him and that's just silly. He could care less, obviously. there's been no statement directly from him no explanation from him. This from the same guy who just a couple of years ago was thrilled and appreciative that anyone still remembered and cared! Reschedule Morrissey? Push off! I at this point could care less. Also Robert Smith is, was and always will be better than you! Did I mention shove off?

Is this show ever going to be rescheduled?? We spent over $400 for tix not to mention the other $400 on last minute dinner, parking, gas, ezpass, etc...after we learned the show was cancelled. I would have been shocked if The Smiths in their hayday would have sold out MSG much less the theatre there. Who was the assclown manager/agent who allowed that pipedream to almost happen?? We want our money back.

I can’t stand the way some people express their mind – it sound terrible. Is a lot of cussing necessary, guys?

Risky theme. I think you've hurt someone's feelings, but what's for me - I like it. No matter what they say if your opinion is true.
