Rev. Jerry Falwell is dead at the age of 73. May he burn in hell. Disagree with my harsh words? Well then, read some of his quotes..........
"AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals. To oppose it would be like an Israelite jumping in the Red Sea to save one of Pharoah's chariotters."
-Rev Jerry Falwell
"The Jews are returning to their land of unbelief. They are spiritually blind and desperately in need of their Messiah and Savior."
-Jerry Falwell, Listen, America!
"And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way -- all of them who have tried to secularize America -- I point the finger in their face and say, "You helped this happen."
-Rev Jerry Falwell, blaming civil libertarians, feminists, homosexuals, and abortion rights supporters for the terrorist attacks of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, quoted from John F Harris, "God Gave US 'What We Deserve,' Falwell Says," The Washington Post (September 14, 2001)
"I hope I live to see the day when, as in the early days of our country, we won't have any public schools. The churches will have taken them over again and Christians will be running them. What a happy day that will be!"
-Rev Jerry Falwell, America Can Be Saved, 1979 pp. 52-53, from Albert J Menendez and Edd Doerr, The Great Quotations on Religious Freedom
"AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals."
-Jerry Falwell (attributed: source unknown)
"The ACLU is to Christians what the American Nazi party is to Jews."
-Rev Jerry Falwell
"The idea that religion and politics don't mix was invented by the Devil to keep Christians from running their own country."
-Rev Jerry Falwell, Sermon, July 4, 1976
"There is no separation of church and state. Modern US Supreme Courts have raped the Constitution and raped the Christian faith and raped the churches by misinterpreting what the Founders had in mind in the First Amendment to the Constitution."
-Jerry Falwell
"The Bible is the inerrant ... word of the living God. It is absolutely infallible, without error in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as well as in areas such as geography, science, history, etc."
-Jerry Falwell, Finding Inner Peace and Strength
"I listen to feminists and all these radical gals - most of them are failures. They've blown it. Some of them have been married, but they married some Casper Milquetoast who asked permission to go to the bathroom. These women just need a man in the house. That's all they need. Most of the feminists need a man to tell them what time of day it is and to lead them home. And they blew it and they're mad at all men. Feminists hate men. They're sexist. They hate men - that's their problem."
-Jerry Falwell

In every post regarding social or political matters you nearly always appeal to the lowest common denominator. Sure, I didn't like Falwell and I think he represented the worst of the conservative philosophy, for the most part I put him in the same class as an Al sharpton, Jesse Jackson type. But you speak of him like he was saddam hussein and right after the man dies, it's classless and indicative of your character. I will say that I hope the christian right's influence in politics fades away with him.

I like your site...but you're a miserable human being. Yes, Falwell's public statements were outrageous, but you've stooped down to his level. I've posted this next statement before on your site and you've forced me to do it again.
Sir, you're worse than even a fundamentalist Republican.

He was an evil man. He will certainly end up in hell. It's usually poor form to rejoice over someone's passing, but the world is unquestionably a better place without him.

I usually agree that grave-dancing is in poor taste, but I also understand being caught up in the emotion. He's gone and the world is a better place without him. I think it took restraint to (mostly) limit your comments to repeating his quotes, I know it took restraint to just type this without doing a little soft-shoe myself.

I know the words I said about Falwell are mean spirited and harsh, but he is a man that is absolutely the opposite of what Jesus (Falwell's religious icon) or Abraham Lincoln (founder of the party Falwell supported) would have ever wanted to support.
Telex brings up saddam hussein. A terrible man whose death was deserved, but unfortunately came about for the wrong reasons. Falwell on the other hand died of natural causes. Or as he'd say, by God's will.
For shame says I'm "worse than even a fundamentalist Republican" and I can only say I completely disagree with that comment. I am only expressing my absolute disgust with him. He is not only a disgusting and sick man, but a hypocrite and a hate-monger.
I'll leave the rest to a quote from Joe Solmonese, President of the Human Rights Campaign:
“Reverend Falwell’s death today causes my thoughts to turn toward the members of our community who have at great personal sacrifice contended with the Reverend’s work and teachings. As I remember Reverend Falwell’s life, I also remember all of the families of people who have died of AIDS. Reverend Falwell’s legacy is not about the tenets of Jesus’ ministry such as healing the sick and standing with the disenfranchised but about shunning and ridiculing those who have suffered and died of AIDS and their families. Many faith leaders today are moving away from his divisive approach and toward the compassion and inclusiveness that Jesus modeled every day of his ministry.â€

When I heard the news of his death on MSNBC breaking news...I thought who f'ing cares! He was nothing of what Jesus taught to be. He was a bigot and a phony like the rest of the far right conservative fundamentalists......I think it's pathetic that all the news people are talking about him in such a endearing way...shame on them!

Please note how Jason had to do almost nothing but post a list of quotations here to prove that Falwell was a completely hate-filled, self-righteous, evil fuck and is better off as worm food than a living being.
Anyone who thinks that Jason's post is too harsh or stooping to Falwell's level is obviously not reading Falwell's statements closely enough. Few people are as evil as Falwell, who is now sucking a giant demon prick in hell, forced to swallow endless gallons of burning lava jizz.
Enjoy, Jerry.

I don't think so. You have to revise your looks. In general your blog is good, but sometimes your posts are creepy.
