POLITICAL JUNK | Summer in Iraq, Tenet's Book, Giuliani Against Civil Unions, Debates

debate.jpg

  • The Iraqi parliament is scheduled to take two-month recess this summer! How do you help a country that needs more diplomacy when there are no diplomats? General Petraeus must be freaking out.....
  • In former CIA head George Tenet's explosive book, “At the Center of the Storm,” writes a whole of damning things about Cheney, the war in Iraq, and the Bush administration. The scariest thing though is that he expresses puzzlement that al-Qaida has not sent "suicide bombers to cause chaos in a half-dozen American shopping malls on any given day....al-Qaida is here and waiting". That is truly scary and fucked up.....
  • In a bid to win over conservatives, Rudy Giuliani is changing his stance on gay rights and civil unions. How pathetic is it that the former Mayor has to flip-flop on this issue? This is a mayor who has repeatedly done drag and lived with a gay couple after his last divorce. He has always been gay friendly, but now that he's running for President as a Republican, he's against civil unions and benifits for gay couples............
  • Fox News, who is sponsoring a May 15th Republican debate in South Caroling, will be selected ten out of the possible fourteen candidates to participate in the debate. So Fox official controls the Republican party.........
  • Anybody watch the Democrat debate last night? Opinions on who you thought did best......

    Telex:

I'm just curious, I assume other relatively young people read this site. Does it not scare any of you that these people debating last night are all borderline socialists. That once you blow past the bullshit of political soapboxes and PC rhetoric about how they embrace diversity and blah blah blah, they all believe in a singular underlying concept: limiting individual freedoms in the most important and fundamental way; controlling economics and in turn our ability to make choices. Anyone? Jason? Aaaah?

    stanley:

    Three things:

First, I thought the Iraqi Parliament is a legislative body, not a diplomatic one. Not trying to be fussy or anything, but it's a big difference.

Second, Dennis Kucinich is the man. If only he had a realistic chance of becoming president over the robotic Ken & Barbie dolls presently leading the polls...

Third, whoever left the first comment is a moron. Or a mole from the NRA. Or both. Seriously, he (or she) might want to plan a trip to the library in order to actually learn some political theory or American history. Preferably both.
