The Manic Street Preachers are long past their peak. Once, they came across as one of the most intellectual bands. Pairing books to lyrics, cutting to caring, death to glory. While This is My Trush Tell Me Yours was the start of their downfall, it was really after 2000's stand-alone single "The Masses Against The Classes" that their material failed to be as powerful as it once had.
Last year, both James Dean Bradfield and Nicky Wire released solo albums, Neither of them are particularly memorable, but they did find both musicians once again pushing themselves. All hoped that that energy would carry over to the next Manic record.
On May 7th, the Manic Street Preachers will release Send Away The Tigers. For the first time since the their long rise to fame, the band finds themselves undervalued and underdogs. No one expects Send Away The Tigers to be anything other than another record by a band who peaked with 1994's The Holy Bible and 1996's Everything Must Go..........

I couldn't agree more about The Holy Bible being their high point (even if it was their wannabe In Utero). However, while they spiraled downhill rapidly after that, it's interesting to see that the type treatment on this new album cover is the same as The Holy Bible, with the reversed R, which could mean a return to the seedy demo-studio sound of THB. Or not, I'll go download and see.

Cool cover pic for the new Manic album - is that the GW Bridge in the background?

Every time I visit this website I loose my assurance that everything written here is real. But even if it’s not true, I keep on visiting it because it’s interesting. There are many posts which you can’t find anywhere else.

Huh... Slightly addled, but on the whole I like this post. You've got some fresh ideas. But please, write more lucid.
