COACHELLA | Another Festival Update, Best in Show?

coachella%20decemberists.jpgIt's 108º in Indio! And here's the news that we've been getting from various outlets and amigos:

  • In a bid to steal the Best in Show award from Bjork, the Arcade Fire delivered a fantastic set that was heavy on material from Funeral. The band took the stage while the audience was singing along to "Maps" and no one stopped singing the entire time tha band played. Win played "Rebellion (Lies)" in the middle of the gigantic crowd, which made 65,000 people seem intimate........
  • Hot Chip's afternoon performance turned the dance tent into a death trap suana. By the time they get to their cover of New Order's "Temptation," the tempture is about 150º, no eaggeration.....
  • A man in his early 20s was impaled on a fence. He was one of two individuals air-lifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for trauma-related injuries. The other had been physically assaulted.....
  • Kazu Makino from Blonde Redhead is sooooo sexy. Watching her and Amedeo is like watching musical pornography.......
  • The Decemberists were attacked by a shark on stage. Well, they were attacked by a couple people dressed as a giant shark. Hysterical.......
  • LCD Soundsystem into The Rapture on the small outdoor stage was fantastic. Same routine as they had when they played together at the Bowery Ballroom in 2004, but still as funky.....
  • Ghostface Killah paid tribute to his late Wu-Tang Clan mate Ol' Dirty Bastard by performing "Shimmy Shimmy Ya".......
  • Californians love the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I mean, they really, really, really love their hometown boys.....
  • Was it just me or was Regina Spektor fantastic? A nomination for best in show?.......

Dude, isn't that a WHALE up on stage with the Decemberists, not a shark? You, know, a la "the Mariner's Revenge Song?"

    Chris:

Small correction, half of RHCP (Smith and Kiedis) hail from Michigan.

You are the brick! Reading stuff like this written in the way like this is a great pleasure for me.

Don’t know what to say. At first it looked good but now I’m very disappointed in this kind of information
